Everything starts at the buckets. We buy in a few times a week, so what is standing in water out front is what we build with that day, not something pulled from a photo in a binder. Tell us a color, an occasion, or who it is for, and the bunch gets tied in front of you: a base of the sturdiest thing in the shop, something tall for shape, something soft to fill the gaps, then paper and twine.
Most people come in without a plan, and that is fine. A budget and one sentence about who is getting it is enough to work from. We will say honestly which stems are at their best that morning and which are on their way out, and if you want the bunch to last, ask for the harder-working flowers — we will point them out and tell you how to cut and water them at home.
